Creamy Vegan Cheese Sauce

This creamy cheese sauce is the perfect pairing with breakfast burritos, nachos, tacos, and so many more. It is made with a base of cashews and paired with all the right delicious spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soaked, raw cashews soaked in boiling water for 15 minutes
  • 1 medium carrot, steamed until soft
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp miso paste
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp tapioca starch or sub arrowroot or corn starch
  • Juice from 1/2 lemon
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ cup + 3 tbsp non-dairy milk

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Adjust seasoning (salt and pepper) if needed.

  2. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
