Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp neutral-flavored oil
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce (such as tamari)
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 block extra-firm tofu
  • cup chopped green onion

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium high. Add ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in brown sugar and deglaze with soy sauce.

  2. Crumble in tofu into bite-sized pieces. Stir to combine. Whisk corn starch with 2 tbsp water. Pour corn starch slurry into the pan and stir to combine. Cook for a few minutes until tofu has lost some of its moisture. Stir in green onions. Serve with rice.
