Ingredients

Turkey Patties

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • ½ white onion, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp low-fat mayo
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos or tamari or low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Burger Sauce

  • ½ cup non-fat, plain greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup ketchup (preferably lower sugar option)
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp brine from caper jar
  • 1 tsp whole capers
  • ¼ tsp paprika

For Serving:

  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Condiments: burger sauce, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, etc.
  • Toppings: lettuce, red onion, tomato, pickles

Instructions

  1. Mix together ground turkey, egg, onion, mayo, mustard, coconut aminos, salt, spices, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl until just combined. Make sure not to overmix!

  2. Lightly wet your hands and shape into 4 turkey burger patties about ½ inch thick. Transfer to a parchment-lined plate or small baking sheet. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

  3. While patties are chilling, prepare the burger sauce. Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a mixing bowl, set aside.

  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat (alternatively, use nonstick cooking spray). Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked all the way through.

  5. Serve patties on buns with the burger sauce, other condiments, and toppings.
