
Fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. A healthier version of traditional Belgium waffles.
Preheat a waffle iron.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flours, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Pour in the rest of the ingredients and stir until smooth. At this point you can add in any optional ingredients (see above).
Grease the waffle iron. Ladle in batter and cook in waffle iron until golden brown. Keep warm in the oven (see comments above).
Top with fresh fruit and maple syrup.
Feel free to substitute any other flours of choice, but keep in mind the texture may not be the same.
