I’ve officially found my new hyper fixation meal – this loaded high protein burger bowl!

I am all about meals that have various textures and flavors, and this High Protein Burger Bowl does not fall short of that. It’s filled with delicious seasoned ground beef, crispy air fried gold potatoes, fresh vegetables, all paired with a creamy cottage cheese burger sauce.

How to make High Protein Burger Bowls:

Burger Sauce

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Adjust salt and pepper to taste, if needed. Add to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate while preparing the rest.

Potatoes

  1. Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes. Drizzle potatoes in oil and toss with salt, pepper, and spices.
  2. Air fryer method: Add potatoes to air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 400°F for 18-20 minutes, flipping and tossing halfway. Air fry until golden brown and crispy and tender when pierced with a fork. 
  3. Baking method: Preheat oven to 425°F. Add potatoes to a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.

Seasoned Beef

  1. While potatoes are air frying, prepare the ground beef. Heat ~½ tbsp oil in a large non-stick skillet. Add ground beef and pinch of kosher salt. Cook until browned. Once beef is cooked through, add spices, tomato paste, and broth. Stir well to combine and cook for 4-5 minutes. Adjust taste with salt and pepper. 

Assembly

  1. Add chopped lettuce to serving bowls. Top with ground beef, crispy potatoes, and other burger toppings. Drizzle over burger sauce and enjoy!

Recipe Modifications + Serving Suggestions:

Substitute yukon gold potatoes with sweet potatoes.

Substitute ground beef with ground chicken, ground turkey, or vegan ground beef.

I recommend serving these burger bowls with your favorite burger toppings, such as romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles, and avocado!

Storage Instructions:

Store leftover burger sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.

Store leftover air-fried potatoes in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.

  • Reheat in air fryer, oven, or microwave until warm.

Store leftover seasoned ground beef in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.

Ingredients

Burger Sauce

  • 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
  • ¼ cup finely diced dill pickles (or sub relish)
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt

Air Fried Potatoes

  • Oil
  • 1 lb yukon gold potatoes, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Seasoned Beef

  • Oil
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • ¼ cup beef or chicken broth
  • Kosher salt, black pepper

For the bowls

  • Romaine lettuce
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Red onion
  • Dill pickles
  • Avocado
