Mini Cinnamon French Toast Bites
Crispy and fluffy air fried cinnamon french toast bites.
Servings 36 bites
Ingredients
- 4 slices thick bread, preferably brioche (or sub thick cut whole wheat or whole grain bread
- ½ cup egg whites (or sub 1 large egg + 2 tbsp milk)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (or sub 1 scoop vanilla protein powder)
- â…“ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (or sub coconut sugar)
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Cut each piece of bread into 9 cubes.Â
- In a bowl, whisk together egg whites, flour, milk, and vanilla until combined. Dip each cube of bread into mixture, shaking off any excess, and transfer to a large plate.Â
- Preheat air fryer at 350F. Spray air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Add cubes in a single layer into basket (most likely will need to work in multiple batches). Spray with additional nonstick cooking spray. Air fry at 350F for 5-6 minutes until golden brown. Cool bread for 5 minutes or until safe to touch.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together cinnamon and sugar. Dip each cube into melted butter then coat in cinnamon-sugar mixture.Â
- (Optional): serve bites warm with maple syrup.
